  2. A UK option to try here: https://ebcbrakes.com/ebc-brake-pad-selector-tool/greenstuff-redstuff-brake-pads/ https://www.ebcbrakeshop.co.uk/ebc-redstuff-brake-pad-dp31867c_p31354096.htm Might go for these if the Brembos from USA are too soft.
  3. Yes agreed, thought I had quoted an earlier post were it was thought dhp wheels we’re Mk4 only
  4. Rear end collision shut off

With the traction battery in the back a significant rear end shunt could of loosened some connections momentarily? I imagine there would be an electrical isolator similar to the petrol cutout. Hopefully whoever is doing the assessment and repairs will check the hybrid elements
  5. Got mine done last week at a local garage (within walking distance of home) - I've used them for several years for several vehicles - £35. (The max price these days is £54.95 - lots of places discount that, but you do need to be aware of those who attempt to con you with unnecessary advisories - no advisories on my certificate)
  6. Never seen anything like that - can you take a photo for us?

  8. Hi guys Do any of you have an issue with green slime / mould / something on the very edge of your rear light units ? My car is washed regularly but I seem to have this green stuff on the underside of the edges ? It's not actually Inside the light unit but in like a resess ? Any ideas how to remove and prevent . Thanks in advance John

  10. Not so easy to find a job to be paid telling BS.

  12. Gold Membership

I understand that if I rejoin using the Black Friday discount I will get 25% off. However, I if I have a standing order set up I will not get 25% off. Is this correct? John
  13. Rear end collision shut off

Thanks, rayaans Good points, it would not have come back on. What I remember happened is all kinds of dash lights flashed (indicators, etc) and then it showed the loading screen like it does when I press the start button to start the car (not just the noise when the engine stops and starts). But I am probably imagining it. Thanks for your input again.
  14. This one has early ls430 wheels - it’s not dhp
  15. Look away now........ usual rubbish
  16. There is a post on here sometime ago confirming dhp wheels, maybe not suspension, were an option prior to the Mk4
  17. http://powersports-blog.denniskirk.com/5573/powersports/motorcycle-brake-pads-sintered-vs-organic/ This is for bikes but boils it down pretty succinctly. Problem with a lot of parts sellers, Lexus parts people included, is they don't always have that much knowledge about what they are selling (the number in the book matching the number on the vehicle is enough for them) - which is why I want to see the pads.
  18. I believe that the DHP (Dynamic Handling Pack) was only available on the MKIV, the model with touchscreen Sat Nav and 1 piece headlamp/sidelight.
  19. Airbag recall

Dave, have you tried Lexus Bolton? They sorted mine, free fuel, courtesy car etc.
  20. Totally agree. But last ones didn't have chips where it started. The g5 is just to make them easier to clean really, aware of its limitations. If I got them powder coated in future I quite like the isf colour. Need to get a copy of the lexus warranty fine print to see if warranty is worth having just for the wheels. Ie if they're covered. 21. I think if you use that flashing stuff on a public road you'd be nicked pretty quick, certainly here in London you would, only emergency services are allowed to use that. Equally important, unless your insurance company has agreed with you to carry on insuring the car with those flashers at whatever it is your paying then you need to inform them straight away (today) that you have 'modified' your car otherwise you almost certainly find out that you have invalidated your insurance. On top of that you also need to inform DVLA today of the changes you have made, you'll probably be asked to send the logbook back for alterations. I notice your in Midlothian, I hope by this evening your location has not changed 'Barlinnie'
  22. Airbag recall

I booked with Lexus Stockport around a month ago for recall and service today but they called me yesterday to cancel as the parts hadn't arrived. Anyone else had this and any idea how long the delay might be?
  23. Awful, just awful. To think these were once fine luxury cars, it’s a crime seeing them treated like this.
  24. Rear end collision shut off

Not particularly sure but most cars have an emergency fuel shut off system which may have activated in a serious rear end collision. In this situation, it seems unlikely as the engine wouldn't come back on once it went out. Because its a hybrid vehicle, it shuts on and off as it pleases anyway which is the most plausible explanation, especially in stationary traffic
  25. Thats BS, they can put in a factory order until the new model has atleast been shown They probably have a secondary agenda - ie get rid of their stock models first
  26. It#ll protect it to an extent but as is the nature with diamond cut wheels - any chips from stones flicking up and thats white worm waiting to happen. Out of warranty I'd probably get them painted in the inner colour completely
