a few developments
after seeing very high oil temperatures, is was necessary to get them cooler, the new turbo will help, but is was deemed necessary for a bit of cooling help finally the oil cooler arrived along with the filter relocator and thermostatic divertor a load of braided hose and fittings managed to find somewhere to put it all ! , its getting a bit tight in there now  after a lot of measuring, dismantling and cutting its in have sore hands, that braided hose isnt very skin friendly    divertor is located behind the chassis bar  a little bit of tidying and tying up, and another job done hopefully this will keep those oil temperatures down ! other developments the turbo is having a new exhaust housing fabricated this will allow the use of an external wastegate to allow more consistant boost levels obviously nothings straight forward, in turn a new manifold is now being fabricated along with a new downpipe to accomodate the external wastegate as they say, Rome wasnt built in a day

The stainless over braiding is quite abrasive and can "saw" through things, so it would be worth while considering spiral wrap for the hoses to protect peripheral components. PLEASE tell me you have connected the remote oil filter pipes correctly. We saw an engine seizure a couple of weeks ago due to a garage installing one of these incorrectly by not realising that there is a one way valve inside the filter. |
