Mark...are those Torque figures right?

1600 lb/ft = 218.8 kg m

1 lb/ft = 14.5939 Nm ~

1600 x 14.5939 = 23350.24 Nm.....

Thats a Huge Figure! I dont follow your Torque at the wheels equation, or Multiplying torque by Gear ratio

tell me my Equation is way off,

i got the conversion from HERE

FORCE PER UNIT LENGTH

1 lb/ft = 14.5939 N/m 1 N/m = 0.0685218 lb/ft

Huge is an understatement for sure!, there must be some miscalculation

and Mike lb/ft is a different measurement to Ft/lb as you did the equation

Don't know... there was "foot-pound" so I think I choosed the right one. :)

foot LB is at the very bottom of the list

1600 foot pound are 2169NM

But 2169NM.... NO!.... NEVER!  :duh:

Or Mat would need new tires every 2 weeks.

Sorry, I thought I explained. That is the figure seen at the hubs after being multiplied through the transmission and the axle - not the figure seen at the flywheel.

I mentioned the multiplied figure to give you an understanding of the forces that the rear end is dealing with. Even in 6th gear there is over 1100 lbs-ft of torque at the hubs, and the lower the gear the higher the torque.

Any calculation for this to convert into torque @ wheels or torque @ crank?? :duh:

I'll scan and post the Performance Certificate so you can see the figures with and without the multiplication, which will give you figures you are probably more familiar with.

Mark - to me that looks like 360lb-ft of torque? Is that about right?

As measured in 6th gear AND removing the gear multiplication.

The only way to get a true power and torque figure is by testing in a diect gear ratio.

To get an idea of the true performance of the Monster (at the hubs), you can add at leat 15% to the figures shown in the above Certificate of Performance.

by my maths, that makes:

470 bhp

and

414 lb/ft Torque

That looks realistic and.............. B) :whistling::driving:

I think it's not the biggest problem to squeeze some more HP out of that "M-EATER". :P

So, Mat took the Monster away on Saturday to get it registered etc.

I took Scarface out in it for a little spin on Saturday too.

Interestingly enough, we have found another issue with the rear axle that is200's suffer from (the Monster more so - obviously), which you can expect a remedy in kit form from us soon, for those owners that have supercharged and turbocharged models.

I have to say, having the monster go past me a couple of times at *ahem* full tilt... tis very impressive...

and yes, Ahmet was squeaking* about the trip you took him on, phrases such as 'sat in the boot' were used...

*references man or mouse statement - as the blood drained from his face just remembering the experience....

I think Scarface's eyes were subject to a bit of warp factor shock loading  . Mind you, they were wide open and protruding somewhat

Although the EVC 5 offers essentially 4 levels of boost (off, low, high and scramble), at the moment we have just two settings of 1 bar and just nudging 1.5 bar.

mark could you confirm the boost that the monster is running 1.5 bar in low boost and 5 bar in high boost the 5 bar does seem unbelievable and what gauges would you use to see 5 bar

thanks

daz

Ahh ..... Mark Probably said ONE POINT FIVE .......... and I must have been in the warp factor at that stage ... and only heard the FIVE ............
