My beige coloured car mats look great for most of the year but winter time it's an absolute s*d to keep mucky feet from ruining them.

Apart from shampooing them every week (not!), what do you guys do to keep them tidy?

I was wondering of you can buy sheets of that thick absorbent paper to soak up the worst maybe ?

I *think* you can get clear plastic mats to go over them to protect them in the worse weather...

make passengers put shoes in the boot

Buy some red replacement carpets and cut your feet off before you get in.
