I've been slightly irritated by the lack of s seat memory facility on my, supposedly, SE.
I stupidly failed to notice the lack of this when I bought the car.
It's got all the other stuff mentioned in the SE spec sheet, alloys, leather etc , etc, but not the seat memory.
Did Lexus supply a variant SE. Mine was registered in June 2001.
What on earth would persuade Lexus to go to all the trouble of upgrading the 300 and not fit this facility.
I know, I know, get a life and all that......................but it is p....ing me off as my missus and I are always hot swapping the damn motor.
Bl...dy good car, though.

Any teckies out there with an answer, or will I die not knowing?

I've not heard of that newer vehicle not having memory seats, normally it's just nov 2000 - Feb 2001 x reg cars - maybe it was old stock.

The first batch of face-lifted cars (both 300 and 430) didn't have memory seats. I know because I have the same problem (and I too didn't notice). Most of the cars all seems to be registered to dealers and then sold on I guess to stop complaints. I have looked at quite a few x-reg face-lifted cars on the used session of the Lexus web site and the switches are not there.

I have spoken to Lexus about this and they say the spec can change at any time and that there was a period of time when the memory seat option was missing.

I think they messed up at the factory or ran out of spares!

I have tried to see if you can just add the buttons but I believe the drivers door ECU doesn't support it (the wiring is there) and maybe the seat position sensors are also not there. This means it will cost a lot of money to install the option so it's just not worth it.

I bet it knocks more than a few quid off the re-sale price though.

i wouldnt be worried peeps buy a car as a package i bet you would have brought it if you knew it didnt have em
