can anyone tell me if 225/45/17 are ok for the standard 17" is rims?
Jimmy Ten Toes
Standard is 215/45/17 if I remember correct.

They would fit but would obviously be wider and not as low profile (45 % of 225 not 215). The speedo would read slightly wrong aswell.
LennyLexus
OH :tsktsk: , I FORGOT IT WUDNT BE AS LOW PROFILE,

WHAT ABOUT 225/40/17?
LennyLexus
THATS ONLY 3MM DIFFERENCE, BUT WOULD 225/40/17 BE OK?

thanks mate, i have the exact same set up on mine.

A gold member place, for £50!!!! sorted me out with 2 part worn 225/45/17 continental tyres, loads of tread, fitting and balacing, and they even done rotation for me B)

Is the speedo measure by the front wheels or the rear or an average of the 2?

using that calucalator, if it is the rear, my speedo will be out 1.4 %

I'm waiting for the Rx 400h. Good mileage and all that. I don't like the narrow tires on the vehicle. Does anyone know anything about putting 255/55/18 on the suv?
Monster-Mat
the speed signal comes from the gearbox, and one of the ABS sensors
