I have a debadged IS200, all except for the front grill logo. My car is Granite Grey, so I don't think gold would look any good. Anyway, does anyone know any tuning tips for IS200's, I know that supercharged dude must know something!
Thanks

Steady on people... because I have debadged mine!!! Well, I have left the "L" in the middle of the boot but removed the Lexus and IS200 logos. I have pictures up if you want see what they look like.
I just thought most people would know what my car is... so why have badges telling them!!!

I love the gold badges - problem is they would probably last about 2 minutes where I live before some theiving scumbag tried to screwdriver them off:mad::mad::mad:

Being a bit slow on the up take - to de-badge the car is it as simple as getting rid of the current badges, or does this leave nasty bodywork holes?
simple question - how do you de-badge?

Not sure about the IS, with not having one yet, but nowdays it is very rare for manufacturers to mount badges with pegs and holes like they used to. They are normally just stuck on.
Whenever I have debadged a car, I just used the missuses hairdryer on the hottest setting and gently levered with a screwdriver covered in insulation tape on the end. Then you just need to get rid of all the sticky gunk with some sort of cleaner (I used Turtle Wax general purpose multi clean), and then finish off with a clean and polish.
One of my friends needed to use a paint stripping gun on his car to get the badges off, but I would not recommend this! He had it about 1/2 a metre away and it still discoloured his paint!

Debadging the IS200 is pretty straight forward to be honest. As stated, no holes or pegs - just stuck on. Lexus removed mine free whilst they were fitting my kit - ask the dealer to do it - it won't take long and at least you have peace of mind that they will do a good job.

After getting rid of my Subaru Impreza Turbo, I should be picking up my first is200 on Saturday. It's black and I definately fancy the gold badges. I followed the link for The Midas Touch. They are over two hundred quid! Does anybody know where to get chaeper ones?
Cheers, Matt
