I personally do not like the gold badges.
Steve
I am not sure if i like them or not... i have a dark green lexus so they might look nice on my motor...

as mine is rare here i am thinking of debadging mine totally... leaving people with what the hell is that....
superchargedmorph
I ham having them done for my IS200, they are also sending gold logo wheel centres and they are making me a supercharged badge to match the IS200 logo for the rear.
Monster-Mat
dam, would a gold lexus L look good on white?????

how big is this supercharged badge, think they could do me one in black chrome
superchargedmorph
It will be the same style , size as the IS200 emblem
Leexus
actually I'm thinking about to put gold emblems on my black IS....how would it loo like? black IS with gold emblems...does anyone has pics?
Steven
black and gold always goes nice.... gold would suit it for sure!
brn7y
De-badge..............de-badge..................de-badge!!
Richie
I'm with brn7y on this one, gold doesn't belong on a Lexus IMO.
Steven
hehhe i honestly dont mind... black goes with gold...
Rob

I have a debadged IS200, all except for the front grill logo. My car is Granite Grey, so I don't think gold would look any good. Anyway, does anyone know any tuning tips for IS200's, I know that supercharged dude must know something!

Thanks

Steady on people... because I have debadged mine!!! Well, I have left the "L" in the middle of the boot but removed the Lexus and IS200 logos. I have pictures up if you want see what they look like.

I just thought most people would know what my car is... so why have badges telling them!!! ;)
Steven
if I never had one badge or logo on mine.. no one would know what mine was...

apart from you can get them in B&Q LOL

I have gold on my GS300 - goes pretty well with the blue IMO:yes:

I love the gold badges - problem is they would probably last about 2 minutes where I live before some theiving scumbag tried to screwdriver them off:mad::mad::mad:

Being a bit slow on the up take - to de-badge the car is it as simple as getting rid of the current badges, or does this leave nasty bodywork holes?

simple question - how do you de-badge?
andyhart21
Not sure about the IS, with not having one yet, but nowdays it is very rare for manufacturers to mount badges with pegs and holes like they used to. They are normally just stuck on.

Whenever I have debadged a car, I just used the missuses hairdryer on the hottest setting and gently levered with a screwdriver covered in insulation tape on the end. Then you just need to get rid of all the sticky gunk with some sort of cleaner (I used Turtle Wax general purpose multi clean), and then finish off with a clean and polish.

One of my friends needed to use a paint stripping gun on his car to get the badges off, but I would not recommend this! He had it about 1/2 a metre away and it still discoloured his paint!:o

Debadging the IS200 is pretty straight forward to be honest. As stated, no holes or pegs - just stuck on. Lexus removed mine free whilst they were fitting my kit - ask the dealer to do it - it won't take long and at least you have peace of mind that they will do a good job.
Monster-Mat
dead easy, use a hairdryer, and a tiny flat blade screwdriver,as the goo heats up just ping of the badges........clean of remaining goo, atatch new badges
Steve
how do ya get that remaining goo off mat? i have been considering de badging mine
Monster-Mat
i used initially my thumb......t-cut then waxed, but got a blister

try a comercially obtainable industrial sticky stuff remover...........

white spirit

benzine(petrol)

just remember to wax afterwards;)

I had an aztec fire coloured IS with gold badges & it looked great, but now Ive got a grey IS I think gold would look pants on it!!!
Rodders_UK

After getting rid of my Subaru Impreza Turbo, I should be picking up my first is200 on Saturday. It's black and I definately fancy the gold badges. I followed the link for The Midas Touch. They are over two hundred quid! Does anybody know where to get chaeper ones?

Cheers, Matt
andyhart21
They are expensive coz they are real gold plated matt.
I dont know of anywhere else that does gold coloured ones though. Can anyone else help?
