Q. What is the average miles that I should get from the OEM tyres considering I drive 95% in town and 5% on motorways?

I replaced both front tyres last weekend and paid £229 inc Vat for both tyres (Dunlop 215 - 45 ZR 17 Tyres) and alignment. Is this a fair price or have I been ripped off?

Not sure about the mileage, but £229 is a fair price for 2 Dunlop tyres. I paid about the same for mine. :)

My last set lasted 25/30k miles..

I remember payin around £100 and something for one tyre so that sounds about right. How many miles did you get out of those tyres?

The OEM Dunlop tyres seem quite well wearing, I'm still on my original Dunlop Sport 9000s. After 40,000 miles I've got 3-4mm left on the rears and 4-5mm left on the fronts. The first 20,000 miles were mostly on urban roads and the next 20,000 miles were mostly motorways and fast dual carriageways.

I am still on the original Dunlop Sport SP9000 and have covered 51000 miles, admittedly they are now worn big time, being replaced next week with same tyre for 100 quid per tyre (from someone in the trade). Generally they are 120 ish quid!
