I got the following through PM..

partner in a country of my choice who will assist me r
etrieve this consignment and transfer this money and use it for
investment purpose, then I would want you to provide your personal
contacts including your phone/fax number for easier communication.

I am honourably seeking your assistance in the following ways.
1) I want you to help me retrieve this money from the
security company here and transfer it to your account for onward
investment in your country.
2) You are going to be the manager of this fund and
also my personal guardian until I finished my studies
as I'm just 19 years old..
3) You are going to procure admission for me to
continue my studies in one of the known university in
your country.
4) Moreover, I am willing to offer you 15% of the sum as compensation
for effort input after the successful retrieve of this consignment from
the security company here. And I am willing to proceed with you as soon
as I have your response.

i reckon we should wind him up, and even try and scam some money out of him..

did anyone see that documentry thing on last week, where this reporter went along with the scam and started to wind him,, they met the scammer at some national park and said the money was buried, they had drawn up a cartoon style X marks the spot map and off they went searching for it,, eventually the scammer gave up..

Re this scam,I have heard scary tales of people who foolishly made
contact with these people being theatened in this country.
Taken by force to the bank and made to withdraw cash.
May be fairy tales.....but best to stay out of it.

Awww c'mon. There in Africa, as if there going to come all the way to the Uk just cos you strung them along...

And even if they did, what are the chances of them landing on your doorstep???

I think the key thing is not to give any personal/truthful information away...

sure there are some asystem admins that could make use and at least find out the ISP

192.168.x.x are private network IP's and are dropped by most internet routers - this IP will be translated before going out.

yeah, i just realised, the ADSL router i bought gave my machines each an IP of 192.168... but I might have some better info for you Steve... let me do some digging..

I think thats the origin of most Internet Bad things
