All are inc vat but are subject to gold discount

Why do they vary so much?

Anyone else had any experiences like this?

Labour rate vary greatly between dealers. Ask them for a full list of items being done, some do more than other. Also ask how much they are charging for oil - supply your own and you could save £40.

Just had 80k service, which is same as 40k. Rang round all dealers, found vast difference in prices, as you have. Ended up in Hull who quoted £187 but came out at £238 for some reason. Supplied own oil, saved £35 . Better that my local Hatfields quote £460!

Just on the oil situation, mine has always had mobil 1 in it. I have heard that once it has had it in you can never put any other brand of oil in. is this correct?
If so, can anone reccommend a good place to buy it from so i can supply it myself

That is not correct. You can swap between brands or types etc. without problem.
