Just a question about finding history on a japanese import.

If a car is imported in with no past documents or auction sheet is there any way to find out the history of the vehicle?

I have been told BIMTA do something? I thought that they could check the mileage before the car was shipped out from japan and hence varfy the mileage, but what about service history and more importantly accident damage?

Any ideas?

any decent importer would have passed the car on with its Auction apraisal sheet and vehicle log book.
