Ok, a bit of an unusual post. But i#ve contacted a few Lexus dealers and so far no one has got back to me! Are there any dealers out there that want to sell me an LS430? Ive got cash now and a part exchange - maybe this is what puts them off as it's a vertex v300 twin turbo with 39000 miles.

Surely, someone somewhere knows a dealer who actually sells used LS430'S? There are over 50 of them between 30k and 50k on the lexus search site..... Maybe someone has bought them all? Maybe I should buy something else? .... E500? Sclass?

Try Ian ( he's the top guy ) at Lexus Edinburgh. He posts on here and seems to be a very forward thinking guy.

They did have a offer - fly you and your partner to edingburgh, put you up for the night so you could drive your new motor home the following day Im not sure if theyre still running the offer -- but thats what i call customer services

It seems Edingburgh are leading the way in customer services and live up to the Lex reputation -- its a shame you dont get the same level of service accross the board

Otherwise you may need to make a dealer visit. Once they see you they will be more willing to do business.

Thanks for your help chaps! 3 dealers contacted me (and lexus GB which was nice!) and were very helpful. The only problem I have now is choosing which car to go for...... a new shape LS430 (a bit more than i'd anticiptaed spending) or an 03 LS430 ....... im gonna sleep on it.

Colin. Interesting you mention going to see a dealer. Unfortunately that seems to have a worse effect as I am a musician with 80's style spikey hair (it was a bet and i lost) and no one takes me seriously with a silly haircut. Having said that, Both mercedes and BMW bought cars to my studio for me to look at ..... unfortunately I didnt like the cars!....

Yes thanks Steve. Just down to 2 cars now.... do i want a new shape with newer toys....? or an old shape for less cash?...... both are great deals..... I called my wife and she said a really helpful .... "you choose" ... which in my book is a license to spend money!

I would get the newer one (if you mean the latest 2004 model and can afford it). 6 speed gearbox makes it quicker and better on fuel and other changes make it smoother + the new toys; the reversing camera, new headlights, voice activation sat nav, bluetooth phone support etc etc.

Newer one..................You know you want to...................go on.


Im sure for the money you might squeeze a little something extra into the deal.

I think I'm sold on a new one, but im gonna try and sell my car privately, which may give me a bit more bargaining power against a new one and could mean i will have a lot to choose from. I was expecting a kick in the b"llocks on my px, However i wasnt expecting to amputate them!

Ok so i really wanted the car today, but spending 50k as opposed to 35k is a big deal. so i'll sit it out and go shopping with 100% pure cash!

Top marks to Lexus Southampton and Oxford for replying and at least taking the time to work out px for my car. But super top marks go's to.... Ian at Lexus Edinburgh! Really nice guy (you were right Colin!) really knows his stuff and he's a human being! (In my6 years lexus experience this is really rare in a lexus dealer!) Unfortunately, the LS430 they have is just out of my budget.... so i'll probably end up with a really rank colur (Colostomy blue?) , but silver is what i really want.
