Firstly, can i say hello to all! I stumbled upon this site whilst looking for info on the lexus 300 and i'm well glad i did! I am currently on the search for a GS300 of about '94-'96 vintage and would really like the sport model, however i note there are a few differences between that and the "normal" 300. I have noticed a "pinned" topic which looks like it states the different sport parts with a number highlighted in blue next to them. Are these the lexus/toyota official dealer numbers??? Could you tell me also, if the sport suspension is only different springs, or are the shox different also? Finally, (phew!!) are there any bodywork differences, apart from the rear spoiler i.e front lip spoilers etc. Thanx in advance! afro.gif

Only the springs are different. Same on the series II as well up to 2000. The latest 2003+ sports have different springs/shocks/roll bars.

Finally, (phew!!) are there any bodywork differences, apart from the rear spoiler i.e front lip spoilers etc.

The only differences are:
  • The springs
  • Rear spoiler
  • Sport signature stickers in the rear side windows
  • Sport signature badge on the front spoiler
  • Body coloured front grill, both mesh and surround
  • Sport nine spoke alloys, 18x8.5 with optional 18x10 on the rear (when new)

as you may have noticed in a few topics it has been noted that the sport 18" alloys seem to have a problem with getting buckled .. so check very carefully on the test drive for any wheel wobble.. if there is.. ask them to get them balanced and try again.. if they are shot its going to cost you at least another £600 to get something like them..

Thanks for the speedy responses! Can anyone tell me where i can get the sport "extras" and roughly how much they'll set me back?? Thanx

i would think mostly main dealer parts and will set you back the best part of £2500 if not more .the wheels and tyres will be about £1200 on there own .i think there was a group buy on the front grille but not sure if it is still on

the grille went pear shape as it needed modification to fit it... not sure if a revised copy is comming out or not...
