A few of you who own IS200's fitted with Induction kits have noticed that the IS300 Air intake scoop would be ideal to act as a "ram air" for your induction kit.
SEE THIS THREAD I have been offered them from my local lexus dealer at a cost of £35.05 plus V.A.T. A Lexus Owners club GOLD member would get 15% off this price but if we buy as a group, I could get 20% off. I can collect these from the dealership and ship them out for £2.50 each.
TOTAL COST WILL BE £35.50 DELIVERED TO YOUR DOORPlease post here if you would like to get one.

if you did a GB on an induction kit first you might get more peeps wanting the air intake -- or even the two together as a package

just a thought

I already have one of these IS300 air scoop things and to be honest I don't think it works very well. I have taken it off and it's in my boot at the moment.
Some of you saw it at JAPS, when you fit the air scoop to the car, the air is being directed behind the cone instead of in-front. As it stands its pretty useless.
But Pete Jenkins has some ideas which I'm looking forward to hearing.
I'll take a photo of the air scoop fitted to my car so you can see how it will look.

Ive been doing some work on this. The IS300 Scoop should work. The theory is, to develop moving air around the corner which the filter is situated in. It should work. Give me 5 mins and I will post some pics of the kit in a new topic under IS200 Modifications.......

It would be quite easy to tell if it makes a difference or not. Just get it on a rolling road and monitor the air intake temperature sensor.

Even if it just blows cold air into the area near the cone it should be a bit better than sucking warm air in.

would it do any harm if you were to shorten the pipe slightly so that it blows onto the cone.

It would be better if somehow you can incorporate the cone filter in a box leading from the scoop.

i have the HKS cone on my tdi kit and it comes a little further forward than that one. But i have plans to add an extra tube onto the IS300 part.
That photo will be my inspiration for my extra panel too!

Something very much like that combined with a slightly shorter pipe would do the trick I recon.
Anybody be able to get a plate like that made up / comissioned? I recon all the intrest in induction kits and the air scoops, people will definately want something like this. I do (want a induction kit first tho...)

Photo OnePhoto TwoPhoto ThreePhoto Fourifraz! the scoop is not in the right place thats why the air is not geting to the filter

the scoop should be siting over the Rad and not at the back of it like you have it in the pic,s

just taken her for a spin with the kit on. and boy does it feel a lot better, especialy at about 40-70mph as it feels like its got enough cool air to realy help it pull.
well happy!
altho it seems near impossible to mount it in the same position as the is300, due to a tube coming from the radiator not allowing it to sit flush at the back right of the intake.
will spend the weekend finding a way around this tho!
