I have been using eibach lowered springs on my IS for quite some time but feel I need to go lower. The eibachs lower by 30mm, cobra springs by 40mm but is it wise to go lower with springs alone? Will this damage the dampers? I wish to lower the rear end 50-60mm. Would it be better to by coilovers instead? I've seen brands such as apexi, tein, koni. What do you guys think and what brand is best? unsure.gif

apexi, tein and hks are all good for coilovers. Make sure you know what you want - some, due to the top mountings, are noisy over bumps etc.

If you want to control the damping stiffness whilst on the move then Tein along with their EDFC is the only way to go.

There may also be companies that sell shocks/springs as a set that will give you your required drop (TRD maybe?)

I've gone from EIBACHs to TEINs with EDFC and say to all & sundry that the coil over handling experience is worth every penny

I can get either Tanabe or HKS coilovers for around £700 mate... these normally retail at well over £1200!!

For a rather extreme drop you have to go for the coilovers. No spring/shocks combination offer a drop that is more than 40 - 50 mm.

The TRD spring/shocks combo has a relatively modest drop, prob. only 30 - 35mm

What about airRide? Any experiences?
