When doors are unlocked after a time they lock themselves,even if a door is open.is this normal or have i got a fault.

A fault. Does the car know the door is open - is the door warning light on or the door light on? Series II can have problems with the rear door sensors not working.
The car should only lock itself if it has been unlocked and a door not opened after 30 or 60 seconds.
