Anyone fancy a 'North/Northern meet' on an informal basis? Venue could be Lancashire/Greater Manchester/Derbyshire/Yorkshire or anywhere else central to the most interest. Everyone welcome!

Let me know if you're interested, what dates you prefer and also if you have a location in mind. Milton Keynes is not an option! I may even try a poll........

Great idea Paul - Derbyshire sounds good... but then I'm not particularly fussed. How about sometime after JAE? :)
Chris.S
Derbyshire or South Yorkshire sounds great, count me in as long as I'm not working :(
Grangey
August would be good - the suns shinin' (maybe) so you could all spend the day before washing and waxing (or Mering or Autoglym or Meguairsing, whatever you do!) to show your pride and joys off! Only concern is that it would be TOO soon after JAE? Let me know what you think?
Chris.S
I've got a few days off at the beginning August. That would suit me fime

Great! Let's hope a few more are interested! Hey Chris, if the Financial Director approves the Sports Grill, you could bring it with you! I gotta go Gold, I gotta go Gold............

Northern meets.... so that'll be Ollerton this weekend????

Then the next Northern meet I know of is at the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate - 4th August. Tis actually a classic car show on, but Honda-R have a section of the field as we are having a charity fund raising bash - lots of competitions etc. to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Relief. You are welcome to come join in!
andyhart21
I like the idea of meeting at shows, but I also really enjoyed the informal meet yesterday. It was cool just standing around and chatting, then cruising to Maccy D's and grabbing a bite to eat. Why dont we do both if people are interested?
ricky_is200
Andy enjoyed cruising to Maccy D's so much he decided to just keep driving round and round rather than parking up and joining the rest of us.
andyhart21
Damm right!
Zee007
Are you feeling picked on Andy...:lol:
andyhart21
Nah. I'm used to it mate. We Derby fans are always getting picked on 'sniff':(:(:(

However, I still maintain that my way to Maccy D's was...........

I'll come to the meet up north as long as it is on SUNDAY. It's my only day off.
Grangey
Sunday sounds good - how about the middle of the month - JAE's the end of July, right? You've got the 13th or 20th? Where could a batch of Lexus make an impression? We could provide Andy with Long/Lat just to make sure??
Monster-Mat

Sound good Mat.Jodrell Bank is quite easy find off the M6
Grangey
Jodrell Bank seems to be easy to get to - is there a McDonalds for the burger monsters?! Sunday 4th August do everyone? Check out the map to see how far you are away............

andyhart21
Thats fine by me:yes:

50.3 miles away
Grangey
Oooohh, 48.9 for me
Monster-Mat
grangey, where in lancashire are you,im thinking there are loads of places around manchester that would make good venues........but just trying to think where.........

if you wanna email Jodrell bank, ask them if it would be ok for a few members from the Lexus Owners Club use there car park for a small meet, and use there facilities.

visitorcentre@jb.man.ac.uk
ricky_is200
180.2 for me :(
Grangey
grangey, where in lancashire are you,im thinking there are loads of places around manchester that would make good venues........but just trying to think where.........
I'm in Bolton, which is north-west of Manchester. Maybe Manchester and north of it would be a little too far for some? Forget Trafford Centre on Sunday's - chocka. I suppose it depends on how far people want to travel, and what they want to do? I'm a virgin (when it comes to his!). We'd better choose a location that more people will attend than one close to me (like the Reebok Stadium - less than a mile ;)). Let me think about it and look at some maps..........

Hey, Ricky - 180.2 miles? Just over an hour, isn't it . Run those new alloys in ;)

I've just grovelled to Jodrell, and I'll let you know their reply..............
Monster-Mat
ah Bolton know it well.........i used to live in Walkden/Worsley area............

i know what you mean about location.........however afinal destination ...or cruise to location like Rivington pike/winter hill would be ace............
Grangey
or cruise to location like Rivington pike/winter hill would be ace............
That WOULD be good - I can see the Pike from my window!! I cycle there (occasionally!). Nice country roads around here. I know Walkden/Worsely, too.

I've no objections to that..............
Zee007
Can't do 4th August I'm afraid - I'm on a mates stag weekend... :sniff:
Monster-Mat
ok ppl,the decission is yours,we could meet up somewhere............sevices or something on M6................and cruise onto a Maccy "d" then cruise to the pike..................nice roads, good final location,

let me know.........or Grangey
andyhart21
looks like we are having the meet in Grangeys back yard!

Can we have the next one at my house?
Grangey
Or we could go with Zee on his mates stag do??

I'm easy where we go. Don't mind you all parking up outside the house - that WOULD make the neighbours think!!
JOHNNY-BOY
I should be in Blackpool with the lads that weekend , a convoy of Lexus's along the sea front would be good.

Blackpool's an easy 25 minute ride from here - in fact, you can see Blackpool from the Pike. Any more suggestions?

What's a Blackpool donkey get for his dinner?

Half an hour!!
Monster-Mat
it would.hmmmmmmmmmmm
Grangey
Lexussport prefers south of Manchester. How about meeting at Jodrell (no reply from them as yet) and perhaps heading a little north? Some nice coutryside in Cheshire, border both Lancashire and Derbyshire.

Anyone north Lancashire/Merseyside/Yorkshire interested in joining in?

If we do get this far, bacon butties at my place? After McD's, off course!
Grangey
Had a reply from Jodrell Bank and they have no problem us using the car park to meet (must've been the work email signature that swung it - shows respectability!). However, they say that they are busy in August and there's no guarantee of parking together. They are going to send out some leaflets on the attractions (!) in case we want to do the tour:lol:.

We could always meet on some M/way services? Then travel on?
Chris.S
We would probably find it easier to park if it was busy to meet earlier in the morning.
Jodrell bank is easy for me,it's only about 15-20mile away so I could go staight there
Chris.S
ET Phone Home

I'm game for the meet, are we going to meet up at one of the services for a cruise in:cool:
norkep
:o:o:o I've just calulated the distance - 133.4. It should take me 2 1/2 Hrs by autoroute. In another words with my driving - about an 1 1/2 Hrs:D:D:D
Monster-Mat
so JB it is then..........i will find a services to meet at......im sure theres some just south of chester on M6.............
Chris.S
Keele Services just north of junction 15
Chris.S
Or Sandbach services just before junction 19
lexicon
I could make JB on that day - it's not too far away from me (50 miles-ish).

Grangey - I got your U2U but accidentally deleted it (doh!).
Anyway, near Rochdale is the answer.(we've had this conversation b4 u know).
Grangey
Great stuff! Looks like we got 10 so far! Any more takers? Looks like:

Adeyb
Lexicon
Chris Shipley
Supercharged
norkep
JOHNNY-BOY
AndyHart

ukazn
& me! Have I missed anyone? Thanks to all those that replied to my U2U's - sorry if you can't make it.

Adeby's changed his holiday's and Johnny-Boys gonna make the effort to get up in time! If we do end up for bacon butt's, it's gonna cost me a fortune!

So are we OK for Jodrell Bank or services on the M6 to meet? We need some ideas for places to cruise to - got Blackpool and Rivington Pike as alternatives. I'm easy, but keep posting your preferences/idea's.

Paul
Zee007
Well Done for oganising this Paul - great turn out too by the looks of it...
Grangey
Just the 'Bumper Boy' missing now ;)!!
Monster-Mat
so have all those ppl confirmed there coming................

:smug:
