Hi,

Just come across your site (wish I'd seen it earlier).

I've had my IS200 SE for about 14 months now and it's picked up one slight ding at Asda and a couple of stone chips.

After last weekend (sister opened passenger door into a wall - ouch!) I've decided to see if I can touch it up.

For the chips I was considering a kit from Halfords (including primer, paint and enamel) using the touch up paint supplied with the car instead of the paint in the kit.

Any suggestions here? or could you recommend someone who might do it (at a reasonable price - the chips are v. small) professionally? (I live in the Reading area).

As for the ding - any recommendations - the paint isn't chipped and it's very slight (can't see it up close).

Lastly (I'm full of questions today!) - where can I get the red logo calipers?

Cheers,
Simon

Welcome to the club!!
There's a outfit around called ChipsAway - I've never used them but might be worth a call. Please let us know how you get on.

for the dent try a company called dent doctor - or just do a UK based search for "paintless dent removal" - i have seen these guys work miracles!! was really surprised.

Hi nattrass. Welcome to the site.

I'm in Reading too. On the ChipsAway web-site they mention a partnership with Halfords so I phoned the Oxford Road branch as I've picked up some damage. (Bad parker hit rear right corner, motorbike scrapped front left corner weaving between traffic, car in-front threw up metal rod from road which bounced up the bonnet of my car  ) Halfords said the partnership never happened and gave me the number of the local franchise guy - 0118 9664729. I've not tried them yet as I can't afford it and I'm waiting to see how the claim goes with the motorbike's insurance.
