Full Version: Disabling Cutoff Of Video To Front Screen
Lexus Owners Club > Lexus Models > RX300 / RX400h

I know its a "safety feature" to not let videos from rear entertainment go to the front navigation screen while the vehicle is moving hence the cut off when the emegency brake is released but has anyone one found a way to disengage the saftey mechanism without ruining the whole system? Its sounds like it could be just one wire or a circuit switch?

****Tried the eBay site without success, they seem to have cut the link. Would really like to override the screen system that won't let your front seat passenger get full use of the phone or GPS when moving. Was this the unit that would allow such a thing? Do you know of any alternivate suppliers? smile.gif

Press the menu button, then choose system option. Then press the top left of the screen, then the bottom left of the screen, then the top left again, then the bottom left again, then finally touch the bottom right of the screen. It will bring up a system menu. Choose the override button, then hit back. If you do this while moving, you won't be able to edit until you stop the first time.

This does NOT work on UK models, and further when you do find the system/service menu (different method involving side lights) there is no Override function.

But how we all wish it would!

Indeed.. hell I'd be happy to have the video from the ICE being sent to the nav screen even WITH the parking brake on... but I don't even get that luxury. *sniff*
