My friend has given me his Ipaq to look at its a 3850 and he tried to upgrade it to pc2003, and it failed during upgrade, I have tried the holding buttons down trick but it doesnt display the serial/usb text and it just has a red Compaq logo and thats it.
anyone managed to revive one of these before??
I know its a long shot
but you never know!!

Came across this thread a while ago - might be worth a try. Note this its for a (later) model 1940 and needs a serial (not USB) connection. Good luck!

Was the iPaq ok before you tried the upgrade?
Do a hardreset, this usually requires you to push a certain combination of buttons. If you do not know how to do a hardreset, try to download the manual from the HP website.

If you mess up a BIOS upgrade there is a strong possibility of a useless brick, as you have no doubt discovered.
This is where there are large warnings about this. Contact the manufacturer, there may be a rescue procedure, but then again there may not. [ Usually there is not ]
