hi everyone got a gs 300mk1 with a flickering tacho light,well it was but now it doesnt work at all ,wonder if anyone had the same prob ,how do you get behind the dash ,your help would be appreciated ,regards gary

Hi Gary,

Welcome to the club mate, I have the same the problem but mine has not yet gone completely, I've turned the brightness down to avoid buring them out completely. There are 2 screws on the top of the display, once you've removed these, you need to extend the steering wheel as far as possible and then slowly but evenly pull the dash display out.

You need to do a search but there was someone on here that has either found a replacement or was looking at one but not sure of the outcome though.

It looks like I have come up with a way of replacing the 'light up' part of the needles on these cars. I should be able to do it in other colours (say, blue, white, etc.) but at this stage I am unsure of the cost - but it will be less than the dealer will charge for the parts (in Australia, anyway). We use better quality parts than the originals so they should last a lot longer.
