A while ago I called JE-Pistons in California and asked for rods and pistons for the IS200.
They'd need one stock piston and one stock conrod for manufacturing.
Pistons for 800-900$
Rods for ~1200$
...as far as I know.

They also ask you for HP you want to go, how much boost, race or street... and so on.
They are specialists in that area. whistling.gif

And a bit cheaper, but you have to add the shipping for that....
...should be around 200-300$... only a suggestion.
I think if enybody of our workshop-specialists could send the rods and pistons there, we would have an advantage. biggrin.gif

Think mine (daveellen) came out at £1700 plus Mr Browns bit.

Think the pistons are JE but the con rods are made by a company mark knows.

Getting it all fitted next week..............

will come out of tdi towers with steel rods & pistons, lightend flywheel, gas flowed head, paddle clutch, lightened pully's...over bored to 2.2.

Will run her in for 500 miles.....pop back in for stage 2 s/c pully upgrade and 100bhp nos jets..... sick.gif oh a prolex up rated intercooler as well (after the dyno run)

Gentlemen, I am working on having batches of these made which will bring the cost down, as some of you will be at the stage soon where you can't get anymore power with these parts.

Dave E is the pioneer on this little project ph34r.gif

Mark, do you have a side by side picture of the standard engine internals and the uprated ones? I would like to seee the difference.
What is the price for these currently?
Where are they manufactured and are there any guarantee's that these will not shoot out the side of the engine and although if fitted these proove to be stronger, is the bottom end of the is200 engine strong enough too, to take the higher bhp?

Hiya Steve, I'll be starting a new thread about the stage 2 and stage 2a conversions soon, which will have some pics etc.

We have been using these rods for racing applications for years, and haven't seen one break yet. Although nothing is unbreakable, my guess is that these are strong enough for considerably more power than this engine is ever likely to produce, so are a worthwhile insurance policy against major engine damage.
