Hi,

I noticed at the Toyota dealership the RAV-4 has a limited slip differential. I wondered if it was the same as the one on the IS200 Sport. Maybe there are other models with the same, Toyota or other Japanese brands? Might be interesting for the people who'd like to upgrade. Any Toyota parts specialists out here?

Thanks,

Even if the RAV4 has the same type of LSD it is probably geared differently.

It's even more difficult, the differentials have different gearings between manual and auto gearbox versions and IS200/IS300, I've found this table:

IS200*/IS200 Sportcross (numbers in brackets for IS200 with 4-speed Auto)

1. Gear 3,847:1 (2,826:1)
2. Gear 2,175:1 (1,493:1)
3. Gear 1,484:1 (1,000:1)
4. Gear 1,223:1 (0,730:1)
5. Gear 1,000:1 (-)
6. Gear 0,869:1 (-)
R. Gear 3,672: (3,431:1)

Differential 3,909:1 (4,100:1)

IS300/IS300 Sportcross

1. Gear 3,357:1
2. Gear 2,180:1
3. Gear 1,424:1
4. Gear 1,000:1
5. Gear 0,753:1
R. Gear 3,431:1

Differential 3,583:1

So, for the guys with a supercharger, take the IS300 diff to increase the top speed by 9 % (146 instead of 134 mph) wink.gif. You'll have to adjust the speedo though.
