Full Version: Up To £2000 For A Cd Unit Replacement!
Can anyone help please!!!!! I have a used is200 sport V reg, registered in 1999. Before i brought it i made sure it had a new cd unit replaced by lexus under its 5 yr warranty because i knew they had problems. It was purchased through a private seller in august last year but unfortunately just recently my cd unit has packed up showing an error 3 on the display. my cds will not play or even eject, been told it could be a jammed cd or an packed up unit. My warranty has just expired a few months ago I have been told it could cost up to £500 to repair or up2 £2000!!!! to replace, what a rip off!!!!. Been told its expensive cus it will have to be imported from Japan. i'd buy an after market stereo and surround. or have a look on ebay, there are normaly a few stereos on there. or mat (supracharged) might be able to help ya

to be honest i would have a look on ebay as i have seen quite a few on there recently - also would remove the radio fuse ( in the footwell fuse box) put it back in and then see what happens, also keep pressing eject at the same time - has worked for other people in the past. also try giving it a good thump on the side of the console

u can have mine too, its les than 6 months old as it was only just replaced by lexus but i need to buy some alpine stuff to replace it with for my instal at some point.

hello mate my friend had a v plate is 200 se before he got his new one and hi stereo broke and it was out of the warranty but they replaced it free of charge!!!
one problem i know of when people have installed us head units from aftermarket companies is that the tuning range is different, you can pick up say kiss 100fm. but not 95.8 capitol because they operate in a different way? this occured on a friends Pioneer head unit that he brought back from there. so not sure if its a standard us feature
