Hi all

Need to remove my damaged wing mirror to fit replacement.
Can anyone offer any advice on how to remove the upper portion of the door card to access the mirror fixing bolts on a Mk1 GS300.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Keith

are you sure you need to remove the card.

i thought the fixing points could be got at by removing the tweeter cover.

i'll stand corrected if i'm wrong

Yeah you are almost correct.
Wing mirror is fixed by three bolts only one of which is accessible from behind the tweeter.
To get proper access you need to remove the upper part of the door card (ie the section that is same colour as dash etc)
Really need a manual, so will have to try the US forum as they seem to be more accessible to owners over there.

Cheers

Thanks for reply
The door card on the Mk1 GS is in two sections. I only need to remove the upper section immediately under the window which seems to be fixed with trim clips and some hidden screw fixings which I cannot for the life of me find.

i'm corrected

the door cards do seperate but you can only do it by removing them completly

1. remove tweeter cover.
2. carefully unclip the surround around the door pull.
3. carefully prise the door switch control panel up to reveal a screw.
4. around the bottom egde is a couple of retaining screws remove them.
5. bottom corner is a black rubber boot with scew fixing remove that.
6. pull the bottom of the door panel out wards gently.
7. now push the door card upwards to take it away from the window fixing.
8. unclip all wiring

:D
