Just been out in the IS, had to parallel park in a very tight space.. ended up kerbing the rear alloy slightly...

I'm well annoyed at myself - 3 years I've had the car..

Is there anything I can do to the scrape??

I kerbed mine recently after years of avoiding them, I just swapped it out with the spare so the damage is hidden in the boot.
Fidgits
yeah, its just a shame the spare tyre is new, and the ones on are half worn..

Shouldn't really have unlbalance across the axle.
Wosket
didnt notice any difference when i did that ian. you're getting rid soon anyway arent you?

you could get it refurbed for around £40 or they may be able to just repair the scrape cheaper?

well maybe, i was actually looking at a car in Bath when i did it!

but cheers for the info

Could get the tyres swapped between kerbed wheel and spare.
Then put kerbed wheel in the boot. That'd sort your tyre concern.

That sounds too obvious... Am i missing something :)

Mr Singh
My old man works for Pristine wheels...

They just so happen to have contract with Lexus... do the wheels for the IS200/300s and the SC430s..

If u get me the wheel alone i can get replacement for u... at a good price ;)

I did this, and took it down to Lexus, and they swapped the tyre over with the spare for free!

They do look after you a times.. :whistling:

I never knew that. I have 2 brand new front tyres but on the back I have an almost new tyre, and one with only about 3mm left. Should I change this for a new one. What damage could this do?
Lexus Jim
silver nail polish? or some sliver paint and laquor, then blend in with rubbing paste or similar
Mitch
chips away refurb for £25per wheel
cousin had all 4 of his alloys on his 330Ci refurbed by them and they done an excellent job and his alloys were absolutely ******!!!!!!!!!!!
Bazza
just scrape the other three to match

and i thought it was only women who couldnt park
Claire G
I'll ignore that comment Bazza (specially as I kerbed my wheel badly driving home from work!)

With minor kerb marks, get some fine sandpaper and go over it until it's smooth, then touch up with some silver paint (can buy at Halfords, pen size pots but buy a fine brush too). Once it's dry you can then go over it with a bit of laquer. This works well on minor marks, but anything more serious get refurbed by the professionals.

Kazi

My rear wheel is also curbed like a m*f*. What is this chips away place? And how do I get in touch with them?
