U2, simple minds, erasure, the smiths, the cure, guns n roses, duran duran, wham, spandau ballet, eurythmics, bon jovi, happy mondays, stone roses - all the mega dance music starting around then too.
i have wide & varied tastes & remember many a drunken night on the dance floor whirling around to the 80's classics...ah, happy dayz!
all time fave, if i was pushed to pick one - Simple Minds, Don't You Forget About Me - shivers down the spine even now when i hear the first few beats!

80`s
and the tail end of the 70`s
mainly because that was at the age when i was a wee teenager , and those times were the young free and single ones,
and generally bring back all the good memories
and i think that the music was proper then, none of this mixed or re mixed stuff now days, each record was an original and not based on someone elses
why have the 00`s got one for each year mat ???

60s and 70s Why

Flower power and free love of the 60s
Isle of White festival,(oh what delicious memories in a double sleeping bag and a two man tent)
And not forgetting Woodstock

80's all the way for me too
I was but a wee young un back then in my teens, and the music from that Era was just so catchy.
I listen to mostly 80's music in car, with the exception of some war of the worlds
