Do you guys and girls rate these chrome wheels. I am thinking of getting them for the IS200 when I finaly get it (90 days left:D). The are from a usa site called
www.hubcap-tire-wheel.com
best site for chrome wheels i've seen
Rodders_UK
Well, they're certainly shiny. Personally I'm not a fan of chrome alloys - I think they look better on an XR3 - but each to his own (of course).
Rodders_UK
Not at all Grimmo - I was only offering my opinion, like wot Playa asked us to do!! - I recognise totally that no-one has to agree with me matey:bounce::bounce::lol:

Ive just had all four alloys changed FOC by Lexus because they were showing signs of pitting. The new ones are a much brighter and shinyer metal than before. Not sure i like the finish, but if it stops then pitting, well!!!!!!!!!!!!!:wow:
jenners
Nice one - mine are pitting as well. Have you got any piccies of your new ones to show the difference ?
Wallace
Hi Jenners, the new alloys have a much brighter finnish, you can wipe the dust off with a cloth, it doesn't stick like it did to the old ones. Only complaint is the centre badge doesn't match now, it's still the old grey colour. Does anyone have a new model IS200 with the new alloys?
rob200
hi wallace,

i had my wheels replaced last week and i noticed they have a shinier smoother finish, but my centre caps don't stand out like yours do (i don't think they changed them) but it may be worth you asking the dealer if they'll do something about it.

its not a great picture i've attached but hopefully you can see that they blend in...

Leexus
Hi Rob,

why did you get your wheels replaced?
rob200
corrosion - the finish was just looking terrible (one wheel example attached). i got the rear discs done too because of the rust around the hub.

when i finally decide on what new wheels i'm having - i might sell the 17s and that should be easier now they're in good condition again.
Leexus
hmmm...I wonder if my dealer would replace my wheels. The finish of my wheels looks almost like that.
rob200
i was at least expecting some reluctance to change all of them.

all i said was 'its the wheels'

lexus southampton (5 star review!) said 'oh we can do that, no problem'

they didn't even look at them

Lexus Bolton ordered me a new set when they did the pre-sale inspection on my ex-demo car. They never said anything to me at the time - just rang me up and said 'your new wheels are here'. Excellent!

Hi Everyone, this is my first post, hope it works OK. I must say a big thankyou to the Team Lexus website, as I have been very concerned about the pitting of my IS200 Sport's wheels. Having read one of the messages, that mentioned changing them under warranty, I contacted Lexus GB and received a call from Lexus Oxford to say that they have ordered me 5 new wheels under warranty. Thanks again, great site.

Richard.

Welcome to the club RichT! Enjoy! :bounce:

My Lexus dealer is ordering new wheel ends to match the new "bright metal"alloys. No questions asked.
jenners
Visited Lexus Hatfield and they have agreed to replace 5 wheels due to pitting. Top marks to Lexus for their warranty - it's obviously a problem they have with their wheels. Interestingly enough though, the warranty manager said the 'new' wheels will be reconditioned wheels and that they have a batch in the UK now. He said mine should be available in a couple of days. Only problem with this is that it may happen again - we can only try and see. Still impressed that they are changing them.

Nice one Lexus!
Rodders_UK
Please would all you "happy with Lexus" guys post reviews in the "dealer reviews" section - it's good to have a balaned view over there!:bounce:
Wallace
Hear are my new SELF CLEANING alloys. They are a new product costing £250 instead of £70 for re-furbished ones so Luxus will only change four and not the spare.
Chris.S
If anybody is looking at changing their wheels have a look in the new July issue of Maxpower
There is a big wheel guide inside with pictures
Some nice wheels in there

Spoke to my dealer yesterday. 5 new wheels are now on order and will be swapped out under warrenty . The new wheels are supposed to have "fixed" the problem with the pitting.
rob200
my replacements are already showing new dodgy marks :sniff:
imi
Hi all,

My IS200 i think has just come off warranty, as i have just recently bought it, is there still any chance of getting my wheels changed from lexus?
sholao
If it is a V reg, then most unlikely, unless of course it was registered before the 4th of sept 1999.

In any case if you bought it from a Lexus delear, then it should have a one year warranty on it.

If the warranty is still valid, then all you need to do is contact the dealer and male the claim before it runs out, as long as you do that you are covered even if the wheels are not available now.
imi
Thanx guys, i'll give'm a ring see what go on....:smug:
