Hi

I have just picked up my GS300 (mark 1). I absolutely love the car but my only problem is the car tends to vibrate when I am travelling at around 60-65mph. (sometimes the vibrations are very bad and have to bring the car down below 40mph for the vibrations to clear) though it might be wheel balancing but the vibrations happens intermintently. I can also feel some vibrations at the 80mph +. Can someone please help as to what this could be

On the GS300-2m this is a common problem, and I suspect the same applies to the Mark 1.

First place to start is to get your wheels really accurately balanced.

 Got that same exact problem here. 4 days ago I just purchased a pre-owned 2001 GS 430 and have noticed vibrations at top speeds of 60Mph. I have made an appointment this friday afternoon to have it looked at at the Lexus dealership in Tustin, CA. I probably will be pushing for it to be balanced/alligned thoroughly and for it to have a new car warranty, I hope they can do it for free. Does anyone else think that allignment/wheel balancing is under warranty? Hope it is. :crybaby:

Rodders is right. Its very sensitive to balancing.

Easy solution as you are in N W London. Take the car to Lexus Hatfield. They have an excellent balancing machine and sorted this out for me along with everything else.

My mk 1 started to do this before i fitted the new tyres and since then all has been well,i agree they seem to be very sensative and it took the tyre fitter ages to get them right they ended up taking all four to a different branch that had a newer machine ,surprised how heavy mk1 sport wheels are the blokes vectra nearly colapsed with the weight :P .i would say your problem must be balancing as it happens intermintently and from your post seems you can drive through the wobble.
