If you were in my shoes ...... or well in my Nike Shox to be presice ........ your 22 years old, male - single .........

What would you get ?

Suggestions ......... comments - please post .............

I 'think' I Know that I want an IS300 .... however, Matt is trying to convince me to get a GS ! ...............
Raddy
Definately the IS300 for me

Even if it didnt have the styling kit
Matthew_McNally
have you driven a GS yet?

drive both - choose which one you would prefer to own?

/has strange feeling of deja-vu
Brettster
Hmm the GS is another world of luxuary mate :)
but it will be expensive on insurence and maybe running costs will be more
but Im sooo happy with my GS
LennyLexus
V300, if you could can get insured!!! Insurance must be with bad with ur E5 post code anyway :P

A GS would look silly being driven by someone our age.. only a certian type of person can pull it of, 'the fat and pimpy look' aka Bison his LS suites him to the ground
PhoneDrome
IS300 M/T :)
adz
I'd go for an Ls400 instead 'cos i'm a pimp daddy :zee: , but the IS rather than the GS.

I knew you would pop up along here somewhere ...... this thread is only opened because of you ! lol
Kazi
I've driven the GS430, and I must say I was v.impressed. But im only 21, the GS's time will come with age :D

Both lovely cars, especially the new GS B) but at the mo, my vote goes to the IS300!!

Difficult to compare the two, GS is a softer, luxury drive I spose whilst the IS is a drive and look good car, and it pulls it off well!!

My advice to you - test drive them both. More than once if unsure. If you're still undiced go for the GS, think of the IS as an old legacy and the GS is the next chapter. LS is next though!! :shutit:
Bazza
i would choose the GS :D

you need to get one of these drug dealer look cars :)
My GS300 Sport

Mine came with Sat Nav and HID lights, 18" Wheels etc
check out the pics I just posted today :)

get the is300 now, you can always upgrage to the gs300 in years to come, if you choose the gs now then you will not have progressed through the range, leave the gs till later in life ( he says expecting a backlash of epic proportions )

better still hold on until the new is comes out, you can use your free bus and train travel till then

Agreed
Kazi
Possibly my next investment? Will be a while off yet mind!!

Depends what the new IS looks like and what im doing in a years time.

Altezza is just what the UK IS200 should be like. A bit more balls under the bonnet!! :P
chib1177
sorry guys ive changed my mind,

ive just seen Brettsters gs300 sport and its better than the is300 imho, dunno about purchase costs though they may put it out of reach.
ColinBarber
you can get a GS300 cheaper than an IS300.

IS300 is a much more sportier drive though.

lol .... you would say that ! - Mr GS !
Fidgits
Having driven the GS430 Sport - which I would buy if it would fit in the garage, i would have to say the GS...

The IS300 is a great car, but it doesnt stand out against the getting-all-too-common IS200, whereas, the GS, and sport especially, well, put simply... wow..

Plus the GS is a hoot to drive for such a big car!
Raddy
Brett nice looking car but i would still have to say the IS3

Maybe a quick spin is fun but certainly doesn't have a driving feel good factor that the IS has.

Also there is a big difference in driving between a 300 and a 430.
javadude
I voted IS300. I'm too young for a GS at 36. Perhaps once I was in my 40s or 50s.... :D
Sipey
I voted IS300 matey as you asked if I were in YOUR Nike Shocks. At 22 and single, there would be no need for the GS and, as nice as it is to drive, it as all the poise and handling of a rice pudding compared to the IS.

If I had to choose for ME it would be the GS. I know I am only a couple of years older than your good self but I have a couple of kiddies. Plus one has just started school and I now appear to be running other peoples kiddies around.

My own personal choice and next car is neither of those 2 though
Ahmet
Well guess what ............

I spoke to my insurance company on the phone today ... and they have now told me that I will be loosing ALL my 3 years NCB ... and not 2 !!!!!!!

Insurance for a IS300 is now £1,800 for me ......... !!!

So looks like ..... unless I get some contributions   I'll have to get another IS200 !!!!!!!

Oh well ............
SHAHZ
Even though its not your fault they still put it against you makes you well
Fidgits
gutted for you mate...
eMJay
GS for me.

no way!

bad news mate :crybaby:

still - more chances of finding an IS2 with your "fussy tart" spec ;)
Ahmet
Yes .......... more choice for my "fussy tart" specs ....... I'll just have to mod the IS200 ..... so it's more unique !

The hunt for the IS200 begins ............. :duh:
wills
Definately the GS, having been in both cars the is is a little quicker, but the GS is roomier ,more comfortable............. feels more luxary and there are fewer of them on the roads..................the IS is starting to look more common :tomato:

go for the majestic GS (2000 + version though) :driving: :driving: :driving:
Wosket
thats one hell of an insurance quote! i was gonna say IS300 but thats a bit irrelevant now.
aido
I found the standard GS300 a bit floaty for me, the GS430 Sport was very nice though, handled loads better than I ever expected, I'll probably end up with a Robin Reliant after seeing the bank balance earlier :o

You want me to have a word with him on your behalf
