I have just purchased a toyota lexus soarer import which is basically the SC430 lexus model, it has the touch screen etc, sat nav etc or lack of it

I was hoping that some sort of firmware upgrade would sort out the language and region settings ie: turn it to UK spec, I have been given horror storys from UK installers that it would be best to start again, which I cannot believe that any manufactuer would make a item whith such a variation to the UK spec cars.

I hope someone can point me in the right direction, I know its probably been asked somewere in the past but I cant see anything on this forum

I've heard that its near impossible to convert the OEM stuff into english.

Hopefully I'll be proved wrong.

Yes I believe you need a new nav unit to get navigation to work in this country. Even then I'm not sure if the heating controls etc. turn into English.

I was hoping that it was possible to software flash the unit to english

I have sent an e-mail to denso in australia, an am awaiting a reply as they did all the units for all the sc430, well as far I as I can see

You will probably find Denso will not talk directly with the public, certainly on Toyota products.

Looks like you are right, pointed me back to toyota / lexus, but if I was in his neck of the woods he would assist
