Anyone know if a 245mm wide tyre will fit a 7.5J alloy wheel.
Looking to fit 245/45X17" tyres on some 17"x7.5J alloys I am looking to buy as a spare set for winter use so I can keep my original MK1 gs 300 sport alloys in good condition.
I think the rolling circumference will be the same as my 245/40x18" tyres on 18" wheels but just not sure about putting a 245mm wide tyre on a 7.5" rim.

According to Mats post HERE, you shouldn't be going beyond a 235 on a 7.5j rim...

Thanks Zee, but was that not in relation to the IS and whether the tyre would foul the wheelarch . I am looking at the MK1 GS.
Or is Matt saying it is not advisable to put a 245 tyre on a 7.5J rim per se.
Thanks for your help

That size tyre is too wide for the 7.5 rim. Any model.
