First Team Lexus Meet

ok lets try and get some suggestions up and running for a club meet, sometime around March time, after travelling from Germany i wont be that bothered on location but we must try and keep it so that the majority can get there

if we can, because people will be travelling some distance see if we can hold it at/with someone else please give me some idea of what you want

thanks

mat
Richie
I would like one on the mainland!!
Steve
i have no probs with mainland.. somwhere near the coast if possible...

Netherlands sounds good?

What about every quarter, one main land and one UK.. alternative?

Also I was going to suggest a track day.. i wonder if it would be worth waiting for the track day when Iopen up my import motors site? The join both together? Would be a hell of a lot cheaper and alot more people!

Do a whole day track day.

Also would be interesting to do a meeting at a cart track.. so we could all meet up and test our skills on a Cart.. would be a great idea?
Monster-Mat
great idea mainland, when we get a few more continentals on board it should be a crack trying to translate everything:D
Richie
Great ideas guys!!!!!!!!!!
No problem translating!!!!!!
Steve
hey richie.. you english is really good... and i mean real good!

The netherlands rock! I felt real welcome when i was there a few months ago.

those cafe's are sweet
Monster-Mat
i spent 3 years there............only remember the last day:D
Richie
Thanks for the compliment, Steve!!

Mat, is that because you where high for 3 years straight???
Monster-Mat
OK,lets try and get the ball rolling on this one, firstlky if everyone posts there ideas on a location/an organised meet(where we can attend)
and any other ideas, the new year is coming soon(like we need reminding.....mat)

so i would like to try and get some plans in action,we have to try and fill the meet with things as we have to remember that some ppl will be driving v-long distances,
maybe somewhere where there is accomodation/hotels etc..................:P
superchargedmorph
lets look for a track day in the uk then we can meet close by and if anyone wants they can turn in to a gas head?
Monster-Mat
ANY SUGGESTIONS:P
Wallace
What about somewhere in the Midlands, there are several good circuits and its midway up or down the country.
brn7y
For the mainland Holland is easiest for me as I can get the ferry at Hull to Rotterdam.

As for UK some central race track will do. Even talk to some of the other Jap clubs to see what they go to.
Richie
Yeah brn7y, I think Holland is the best place in mainland Europe to do a meeting, that way I do not have to travel that far ;);).
Monster-Mat
ok so were gonna go for the midlands,

ok we need a location ,does anyone kow any other clubs that are meeting ,im thinking maybe end march time, this is when i will put in for time off

we have AVON PARK,DONNINGTON,that i know off,are we just making a day of it ,or a night aswell,do a cruise somewhere,if i get numbers on this ppl i can start organising things, like go carting, hotels, a cruise route,.........i need some feed back

can either you steve find if there is anything going on around that time?

i want to get this first meet rolling.....please;)
Monster-Mat
ok ive posted on japuk meets aswell, see if any of them would be intrested in doing a joint meet

lets try and have more lexus's there than other cars
Monster-Mat
ok ive had feed back from some members of JAPUKMEETS FORUM and the GTO UK owners club ,they are intrested in meeting up with us in march/april time ,so can i have names and suggestions from everyone here
UltraViolet
Meet...... errrr...... I have just ordered my Lexus (and looking forward to it arriving sooooo much) but it won't be my only car.... I also have a tuned Honda (yep, it has cute lights!! lol) and run the Honda-R club - if you want, I could include it in our calendar for next year? Donington is a really good circuit - but not cheap if you want to run with a safe amount of cars on track - Anglesea is very good, but not central. As for Karting - we have held events in Warrington and Milton Keynes - if you find a good karting track in the Midlands, I would be very interested......
Hope you boys won't be too upset if a girly comes and kicks butt!
Steve
Great club you have UV... Do you have any pics of your honda?

Yeah I think a meeting of all types would be fun... I am hoping to launch a new Import motors site around the end of December and hope to include a load of import motors owners. Should be a crack :D

We need a lady in our forum to keep us under control!
Richie
Yeah, I need a lady too ;)!!!!
Monster-Mat
get them to come along aswell the more the merryer(mmmmm, bad spelling)

the track idea is not for driving(i think) just a location,ut if the honda ppl and gto turn up,we may not need a track just a decent venue

milton keynes for g carting is cool,i stay in MK some times, but its a hell hole for driving around,i hope we will get more of a response soon, from everyone else so lets see what the score will be....................so give me some heads up:tumble:
Steve
i will create a sign up form during the week... also if we could have a count on how many owners from other clubs are coming that would be good.

We would need an approx amount of people to see if we can get discount on bulk orders.

I dont mind doing an Airfield.. as there are no barriers...?

I shall do all the photography as that is a hobby of mine... :)
Monster-Mat
oooooooooooo,david bailey is amongst us

not sure if i would take mine on the track with the price of my wheels, but i dont mind openig a can of WHOOPASS, on a 1/4 mile

then again.........................DRIFTING........yeah man
:smilegrin::smilegrin:

i'll speak with GTO again see what numbers they would be looking at,

would it be a day thing or day and night cruise/go carting,on the *****/hangovers/train home sort of thing;)
Steve
day and night.. but we can take a monkey with us to drive us home whilst we are hanging out of our passenger side window being sick! LOL

Ask other groups what goes.. they know best!

I will probably drive home anyway...
Monster-Mat
:( ive never sat in the passenger side:(
UltraViolet
Oh no - I am charged with keeping you lot under control??? I can hardly keep myself under control when it comes to cars! The Lexus will be only the 2nd car I have owned that is RWD too (last being a Mk2 Escort! Although I have thrashed a few others not belonging to me)
Anyway - www.honda-r.org.uk to see the club site. www.honda-r.org.uk/html/sammy.htm to see me and my babes ! Obviously I will be keeping this car as well as having the Lexus - both very different beasts and both lovely in different ways.

As for track days - I would not go on a 'open' track day - but if you want to really drive your car hard, the road isn't the place - get on an airfield where there is nothing to hit, and go on one with a company that like to promote safety first. We use Bookatrack (www.bookatrack.co.uk) and since we all know each other - everyone respects everybody else. Plus if anyone takes any chances and risks someone else's car - they get a strong few words from me...... if someone has to be black flagged, and they don't amend their behaviour - they are asked to leave and don't come again! Only way - you don't want to take chances with your pride and joy!!!
Monster-Mat
hello mum:saint::saint:

well if you want high speed road jinks come to Germany..........:wow:
UltraViolet
Mum!! Mum!!! I shall slap your legs!!!!

I was just trying to say that track days can be safe - and a lot more fun than sprints! So why deny yourself, you have to do it at least once....
Steve
thanks for the link Sammy to the bookatrack.com

I have paced the link on our links pages so people can what it's all about!

I will post your site in the links pages too right now! :saint:
UltraViolet
Thanks. And thanks for the welcome too.

Roll on January!!!
Monster-Mat
yep,i did a lot of track days with my Rover, plus i do racing aswell(did i say i had my cat B national license)

just that the Volk wheels are one of the last sets ever made in white, and to bring the normal rims aswell, would be a pain, cos i will be travelling from Germany

Richie
It's scarry to be in your car and not behind the wheel!!!
Steve
Add your name to the thread if interested.
Monster-Mat
mat(superchargedIS200):saint:
Richie
Guys, need a bit more info then this!!!!!!!
Monster-Mat
march/april midlands
Steve
richie.. it woill only cost around 200 guilders to visit the UK!
Richie
Money isn't the problem, time is!!!
superchargedmorph
Definetly, could be fun!
UltraViolet
Oh yes - count me in .... so long as my car has arrived...... otherwise I'll be forced to come in something slightly less practical! lol
Monster-Mat
bathtub..............?
Richie
Hmmmmmmmmmm??????????????
UltraViolet
Heehee - my other car has only two seats - and snug fitting Recaros at that - so anyone of more portly dimensions, doesn't fit!
Steve
Sammy.. do you know of a good track for me to look into?
Monster-Mat
ok.....................im having a mare,i need a location in the midlands to do a meet(we are not doing a track day for the first meet)

an idea i have had is cruise to weymouth then go over to jersey,

or Alton towers,or just a good location to meet, cruise have a meal, beer ,party

please help me!
UltraViolet
What are you after?
If a cheap airfield - Crail can be hired at £35 a driver (min of 10) or £40 each if you want to hire a certain instructor we have used there (if he is available)
Donington is very good - but not cheap (no 'real' track is)
Anglesea is apparently very good - not done it myself, but will do next year.
Binbrook is near Scunthorpe so is more accesable for those coming from the Ferry at Hull - but when I went to discuss a possible event - the track was a bit rough - needed a good sweep.
Not sure about one for a meet only though. I would suggest you drop a mail to some of the Leisure Parks, point out that we are not some Max Power Muppets intending to do donuts etc - and ask if we can use the bottom end of their parking area for a meet and of course we can then all go use the facilities - 10 pin bowling followed by Pizza sounds good to me!
Perhaps try the Meridian Leisure Park (directions can be found on my website under the 2nd December meet) - ensure the letter comes accross as professional and civilised - they had problems earlier this year with a Corsa meet doing sound offs and driving at speed in the car park!
Steve
that sounds good... They should have known that anyone witha corsa would act like that.

I think they will find Lexus more respectable.
blackmagic
I am not coming to any meets till i've been supercharged coz u lot will just thrash me!:D

Thanks to mat for the links though! Should be getting it done as soon as i rob the bank..my car needs a rear spoiler..anyone have any suggestions or contacts?
Richie
I like the C-west carbon fiber jobby for a rear spioler.
