Saw this on my.is, and wondered what they were, so checked on the US Lexus site, and over there they have 2 position memory on the drivers seat. How come we never got them, and is it something that can be retro-fitted?

I saw that pic on my.IS (is300.net) and was wondering why the IS has memory seats in the US, but we never got them over here, and would it be possible to add it if you got the relevant parts or would it be more complicated

you saw them on my.is - not "MY IS" - i thought you meant your car
Its because Americans are too lazy to keep adjusting their seats! 
I would imagine that retro fitting would be difficult at best.
