Anyone used this for satnav to work on imported motors.

As I understand this product it is a video switch. To get a navigation you then have to buy a 3rd party nav system and hook it into this video switch.
I have a hard time understanding why there would not be a map for Europe on the Dense system...
Does anyone know why there are two different GPS systems? The GPS signals are global so I assume it is only the maps.
