Just trying to find out what kind of security system is fitted on the Altezza's. Mine has a sticker stating that it has the lexus alarm fitted and the radio will not work if removed. Do I need to fit an aftermarket security system? How does the lexus alarm works? It does not seem to work like the regular alarm system i.e. chirpping and parklights flashing. Then again it could mean that only the sticker is present and these is no alarm!

I'd be surprised if you have an alarm - the importers fitted an immobiliser for me and said I'd have to fund the alarm myself.
Lexus UK fit the security systems on most of the cars over here, but I don't know if the Altezza system is compatible - our locks are controlled by radio.
As for the radio - I took mine out and put it back with no ill effects.
Will eventually get a toad alarm I think as that should go with the locks and the immobiliser - it appears there is no car crime in Japan!

i am not sure either, i dont think the altezzer alarm is the same as the uk spec one, so i had an after market clifford alarm fitted!:yes:

I live in Japan, and just received my brand new Altezza Gita yesterday.

I opted not to go for an immobiliser 'cos I too wasn't sure it would get the UK 'Thatcham Certified 1' approval when I ship it back home.

So how much did it cost you for the alarm and fitting? Please let me know!

I paid £300 pounds for the Clifford cat 1 alarm and immobiliser inclusive of fitting!:yes:

question, how many keys do you have and are they mechanical only or mechanical/electronic, who provided them see keys,cheers
