Is it just me but I consider belching and burping something which we do not do in polite company? I have a young child who I hope I am bringing up to be polite and well behaved. I therefore do not find it helpful that the BBC (CBBC) on the Saturday show run burping competitions. I have emailed them to express my disgust but if you feel the same as me please will you do the same

Then your stuck with an upset kid!

I have 3 young kids (6, 4 and 2) and I share the same concerns as any good parent.

However, I can't help thinking that there's better things to worry about than my kids watching burping on the telly.

I think the point thay Jim is making (and I agree) is that has it become acceptable that bodily functions are entertainment?? If so - how long before we have the 'biggest log' or 'highest urination' as the next stage of childrens 'entertainment'.

I don't think for one second that Jim is putting it up high on the agenda of world issues - and if it was an adult programme - then yes I agree, exercise your right to choose by switching off! However if this is presented as kids TV - even if you were 'bid nasty daddy' and turned it off - their friends at school are likely to have seen it and replicate.

I am sure that we are intelligent enough to produce better entertainment for our future than 'belching competitions' - why make our kids into crass teenage larger louts before their time.......

Not a problem my daughter was equally upset and switched it off.
