Visited the Dr yesterday to have the once over (full geo and 4 x balance).

I have owned the car from new and even though it has never been kerbed, never been dropped off a kerb, never been pot-holed............a large number of the dials went red crying.gif

It just goes to show that they come off the production line not optimally set and not even consistent because one side was slightly more out of alignment than the other.

The whole operation was very impressive with Tony giving a full commentary on how and why and what to expect afterwards. I would recommend Tony to every one, even those with newer versions that assume the geo to be correct.

One item that did come up during the surgery was the lack of corrosion on my wheels. Tony has noticed that some of the worst corrosion he has noticed was on wheels with an inner stamp indicating that the wheels had been made in Britain. My wheels are clearly stamped Toyota and have no corrosion at all after 18 months. I haven't had the need to remove the wheels myself and I was expecting some corrosion on the inner areas that my Halfords brush doesn't reach but they were remarkably corrosion free. There are some small stone chips but nothing to write home about - interesting.

The steering is now more predictable and the tendency to slightly drift on uneven surfaces has gone. It goes where I point it now driving.gif

Thanks Tony biggrin.gif

Do you clean them regularly icon14.gif

Depending on the time of year they get done with a Halfords alloy wheel brush (like a mini bog brush) about every 2 weeks using the left overs from one of the wash & wax solutions after the main body has been washed.

What surprised me was that the areas right insode the wheel (where the inner balance weight clips on) was also corrosion free and that area has not been washed ever.

You are welcome biggrin.gif This wheel issue is one for me to watch and report, the nature of my job forces me to check the wheels condition the reason being is that i measure in incriments of 1/10th of a mm so if the lacquer has bubbled/ peeled then i have a problem. Kremmens wheels showed 'NO' corrosion at all !!!
