Can someone let me know what the best tyre size is for the 10" wide standard sport wheels. I need to buy a pair of new tyres but stupidly did not make a note of tyre size when I disposed of old tyres before refurbing wheels.

The tyres on the back of my 10" rears are 275 I think you can fit 285's on depending on the tyre manufacturer oh yeah profile 35

I would prefer 285s if you are going for a 35 profile.

The tyres they had fitted from factory were 275/35ZR18 Pirelli P-Zero's

Ok guys 275's or 285's, should I stay with factory spec? What would your decision be? Your views are appreciated.

All depends on the rim and the tyre manufacturer you go for some manufacturers tyres will be OK on 285's others not so good. 275 is a safe bet for all tyres and most rims on a 10" wheel

I shall be fitting a pair of Dunlop SP8080's on mine which I got for a good price (two for one offer actually!). Yeah I know they were developed for the higher powered BMW Z3's and early M3's but they look the same as the SP8000's and my trusted mechanic okayed them
