Hi,

I have the standard 5 spoke alloy wheels supplied with the IS200SE, they were changed last year because of corrosion due to lacquer wearing off - problem solved. Earlier this year, on one spoke, I had a curb scratch and part of the protective plastic on the alloy started to peel off in that area, it now looks like bare unpolished metal and is a little darker than the surroundings? blink.gif

But 2day I noticed a small stone chip near the centre of one alloy, this has caused one entire spoke length to look watery/discoloured underneath. I'm sure a little paint job can be done to cover it up. Need some advice about paint, maybe refurbing in the Northwest area, any other economical possibilities?

Thanks blush.gif

You could either get them all refurbed so they still look the same or Lexus used to do a deal where you paid so much and basically they'd take your old alloy and give youa a refurbed one - I prefer the look of the refurbs from Lexus, when done well they look fantastic!

Do you not have any wheel refurbishment places in the local Yellow Pages?

I found one in Nottingham who I'll be trying soon smile.gif

Wow, that must be the fastest reply in history blink.gif

But thanks for the suggestions, I'll try to follow them up smile.gif If anyone else has anything further to add, that would be great also particularly about painting as an option driving.gif

Besty painted his alloys but isn't around any more to advise.

I think the other guys who did this were Craig (jac114) and I think maybe Paul (Norkep) did his?

Maybe they'll be along soon?

Where are you?

John (Wosket) knows someone good in the Manchester area?

Yes mate, the spokes were changed from gold to anthracite by the guys in MK, always get them muddled up, there's Prestige and Pristine, never sure which one's did it, Zee had them done when he bought them off Maz ages ago!

I think in this case the color is staying the same or do you want to change them Poncho?

Pete(Scorpion) had a nice looking set with black effects on, they looked very good indeed!

Yeah, I live in the Manchester area but yes, I would like to keep them the same colour smile.gif

Any idea on what paint I should use or color? afro.gif

Lexus were toying with the idea of colour coding the 5-spoke alloys. I have seen a few sets, they were painted on all the dull surfaces but left the diamond cut surfaces clear. Looked excellent on a black IS with them colour matched. Blue metallic looked quite good aswell.

Think Lexus have shelved the idea now but they did look bloody good afro.gif
