my toilet has started flushing itself every hour or so - any ideas please?

think Rob sorted out Kae's which had the same problem - what was that about fella?

it's oneof those bogs with two button, a short flush and a man flush - just seems to be running water all the time and my bill will be massive

Thanks for the replies fellas, Rob did something at Kate's house when he stayed there to fix the same problem, think the stuff they used in these houses is crap

push one of the buttons down then pull out the other button with ur finger, do the same with the other button, loosen the black plastic screw. remove the chrome bit then lift off the tank.


now if water is running al the time, lift the black plastic float up a little - does it stop running??

if so .............

the black plastic float has a steel rod going to a steel metal clip, squeeze the clip a bit and then at the same time slide the rod thru it a little, so it pushes the float DOWN a bit.

put the tank top together.

that should stop the water running, but dont tighten the screw too much or it will push the buttons down slightly and the water will start to leak again.

if when u lift the float up the water doesnt stop then the rubber washer has gone and u need a new one.
