What was the solution to this on the 1UZFE engine, mine's clicking all the time.

Basically I'm just looking for something to print off and hand to my friendly mechanic, been googling for a a while now and there's nothing.

Sounds like the valve clearances needs checking/adjusting if you are sure if is coming from that area. Another possibility is noisy fuel injectors.

i agree with colin it is usually the valve clearances that require adjusting...the 4 that wear the most are the one closest to the bulk head. you have to set them cold and they are adjusted using shims which cost around £10 each.

Is there tech data for that ? Allowed clearances etc ?

Is camshaft removal needed ? All the lextreme forums are a little intimidating with the amount of work that needs to be done.

I don't think camshaft removal is required but probably a tool to put the valve down to remote the shims.

You could subscribe to www.alldatadiy.com to get the procedure.
