Had my 40K service yesterday at Lexus Cardiff. Left my key with the lovely Natalie and was given a lift into town (where I trekked for ten miles around pretty much every shopping street there is, trying without success to find a leather jacket shop).

Had a phone call about 4 hours later to say the car was ready, by which time I was only around the corner having a bite to eat and didn't need a lift back.

Got back to the dealership, where Natalie went over the paperwork, explaining what was what and making me aware of any points that the mechanic had picked up on (pads have about 4,000 miles left, all 4 tyres due for replacement, four-wheel alignment recommended). One odd thing was the engine coolant. According to the report it's supposed to be drained and replaced every 40,000 miles/3 years, however there was a question mark against this on the Visual Safety Report Procedure Guide (the one with all the tick-boxes) and it wasn't carried out (although it was inspected). Whether the car contains Super Long Life Coolant instead (which is 100,000 miles/10 years) I don't know, but there were no comments made on the main Visual Safety Report so I assume it was OK.

All sorted, I coughed up and got my keys back. The car was outside, not only washed but vacuumed (all the bits of stone and dead leaves gone from the footwells!) and smelling lovely.

Pros
I was hoping the car would be washed, I wasn't expecting it to be Hoovered out as well!
Car was ready roughly when I expected (and was told) it to be.
Staff very professional, very friendly (and very easy-on-the-eye wink.gif)

Cons
No sweeties or anything like some other dealerships offer.
Big hole in my wallet (as with most other Toyota/Lexus servicing, though).

Verdict
After my first (30K) service at Cardiff six months ago, I was tempted to try Chester this time round, but needed my side window replaced at Cardiff anyway, so gave them another go. I'm glad I did, and it looks like they're going to get my 50K service next year too.
On the megangry.gif sad.gif mellow.gif smile.gif biggrin.gif scale, they've moved from mellow.gif to smile.gif

Service price (including optional air-con sanitise and brake fluid change, both fairly pricey) in the region of £500 inc. VAT.
