I bought a Meguiar's wash mitt the weekend for cleaning the car next weekend.
Just one question......after you have washed the car with it, do you just rinse it under a tap or use anything in particular to clean it as surely you wouldn't want to leave it dirty.

do you wash the sponges that you clean the car with?

I just rinse mine under the tap to ensure no grit etc left... not sure if anything else is required.

Yeah, but with mild green fairy liquid. I don't think that will be acceptable on a lambswool mitt.

Okey dokes, thanks for the help.
It's just that I thought it was a bit odd that Meguiar's didn't put any suggestions about maintaining it.

to make sure mine is well rid of any rubbish that's been picked up, i pop mine in the washer on a wool wash. slightly over the top maybe, but only the best for my paintwork!

Cool. I was wondering if it would be okay to do something like this, as coming up to the dirty road winter months I can imagine the mitt may get quite clogged.

I like using a natural sheepskin wash mitt. It removes the dirt and bugs better then a sponge. Plus it holds the dirt in the nap so it doesn't scratch the paint.

I also use a mit (Sonus) from Autopia. Very good, in fact I think it is the best!. Be careful how you dry your mit and make sure you stick something in there to hold its shape else you will struggle to get your hand back in when it is dry

...
I use a (empty) beer can but for the non-alcoholics you could use a coke can or similar.
