Jus wana know

Is the manual economical (better mpg) than the Automatic
or is there not a vast amount of difference.
If there is how much?

Your opinions would be greatly considered. :heart: :heart: :P

I have an IS200 SE auto. It's the first automatic I have ever owned. The official figures quoted are:

Urban = 20mpg
Combined = 30mpg
Extra-urban = 36mpg

I get:

Urban = 22mpg
Combined = late 20's - early 30's
Extra-urban = 34mpg (at 80mph) 36mpg (at 70mph)

I have to say that it's the only car I have ever had that matches the quoted figures in the owners manual. I usually get better mpg! On the whole though the auto does what it says on the tin!

What figures are manual owners getting? Lexus only quote 1mpg less or so for the automatic than manual.

Done 14000 miles in my GS300 since August. On reflection. Very happy. thinking that a leathered up LS 400 or 430 would be best next time round.
Anyone got the "REAL" consumption figures on those to?

I will be asking Mr Russell on route back from Epernay and Reims, what his LS does but would welcome a wider view...
