Hi guys

car in for a service today at a LEXUS DEALER got a car for the day no problem was told would have to put some fuel in again no problem.... just left the dealership turner the corner and car ran out of petrol... not censored.gif happy. fair enough they sent a guy out with a top up can and was on my way again... any thoughts on how to handle this? These things do happen I will admit but surely this is pretty censored.gif poor customer service! Would you take it up with the manager??
Ahmet
Erm, it could have been a mistake ?

The previous driver may have not left any petrol in, and told the dealer there was some in it ........

Surley you could have checked the petrol guage before you even left ? blink.gif

Can't see the fuss. Obviously they forgot to fill it up.
They have apologised and put petrol in for you.
People do make mistakes.
Why get some guys b@lls chewed off for something they put right immediately.
Mr Morse
I would have considered that it was the driver's responsibility to ensure the condition of the car (incl. Petrol) was OK before he left the dealership

In all fairness ScarFace I think it would be the responsibility of the garage to make sure there is enough fuel to get you to the nearest pump.

And they did send somebody out to rectify the situation so I don't think there would be much you could do about this.

I wouldn't bother taking up with the manager, unless I was already having a really bad day. It's really down to you if you want to have a bit of a moan when you go to collect your car (if you haven't already), but I don't think I could be bothered with it - worse things could happen ! msn-wink.gif

bloody good point that! laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

It always makes me laugh when I get a loan car that's near on empty on fuel - in the handbook it's specifically states not to run under 1/4 tank of fuel - surely the dealers know this!

I know that it won't harm the car but if the dealers are constantly running loan cars on near empty surely that cant be good for the engine!

I do think it's bad of the dealer in the example above not to leave enough fuel to go to the nearest garage. The dealer checks the car over before giving you the keys!

laugh.gif I didnt believe you till I checked (its on teh page about the fuel guage). I dont think there is any other reason for them to state that other than to avoid numpties running out of fuel because there isnt a automatic stick which clips them round the head when it approaches empty! smile.gif

Wait until it happens to one of you guys and i bet you will be ****** off.

Just a thought, did you make sure the tank was full of petrol when you returned the car? blink.gif
