The car I have just purchased only had one key and it was not the remote key. According to the handbook, there should be 3 or 4 keys!

Does anybody know if it is possible to purchase a remote by just presenting the one I have? There were no details of the key number so I wonder if they can reproduce one without having to change the whole security system?

You will need to furnish the dealer with your chassis No.

Hi

When I bough my car and after negotiation of the deal, I ended up with one key  . I contacted Cambridge Lexus who quoted me £120.

I hope this helps

I actually phoned Cambridge yesterday and had a long chat. Because I do not have the remote key, they told me it would be over £1000 to renew the security system - so beware :-)

Ouch. Sorry to hear that. Is there any way you could trace the key

I only got one key and the valet key with my GS. I found a lock smith on Canvey Island who has a device that read my key and programmed the new one he cut. He also cut me a key to go with the valet key to open the boot etc, but it won't start the car. All for £55. Lexus quoted me over £100 to cut and programme one key.
