Wasnt very amused the other day when my car grounded its front bumper on the new speed humps that they have installed in my road (speed humps, more like mountains mad.gif ) Stopped the car and looked at the damage. the speed hump had managed to rip and break the main bolt holding the front near side in place, hmmmmm not happy. Phoned the building company who were very apologetic and stated they would pay for any damage but just needed a quote, so off i went to my nearest lexus dealership, Reading. Please remembr that this is my first lexus and therefore my first lexus dealership experience after coming over from Honda. In I walked and hear the experience began........

1. Cup of tea and coffee offered in a proper cup cool.gif sat down on proper leather sofas with magazines and papers + a wide screen TV excl.gif
2. Manager inspected the car and stated he would need to put it on the ramp
3. 20 minutes later, bumper fixed (ish) (temp solution before new one)
4. When i asked how much ...... no charge!!!!

Ive heard about the 'Lexus experience' and now i understand why Lexus get number 2 in the top gear survey. I walked out a very happy man hehe.gif

so at the moment i shall give the Reading dealership 10/10 cool.gif

Took my IS200 to Reading today for its 40k service and was very pleased with the experience. I was warmly welcomed and dealt with very professionally. I was contacted when my car was ready and on collection I was talked through the details on the bill and the visual safety report.

I was given an 06 reg IS250 to use while my car was being pampered and loved the auto box which was extremely smooth, great seats with good lumber support and a pleasure to drive. Ceratinly a car I will look at when I replace my current car.

All in all a good experience. Well done Reading a pleasure doing business with you. 10/10

Just had a service, MOT and got them to fit an FM iPod adaptor to the stereo with the cable coming out in the front cup-holder so the iPod and cable can be totally hidden.

Found them to be quite rubbish at answering emails when I was trying to get prices from them, had to repeat send and chase up a few emails. Lexus Southampton gave me an exact price for fitting the iPod adaptor (£51.70 inc vat), but Reading just gave me a rough estimate of "hours labour at most £95. + vat" - but they did agree to match the Lexus Southampton price.

So, booked it in and they came and collected the car from my work in the morning and brought it back (much cleaner) in the afternoon - all good EXCEPT they have scratched the sides of the dash in a few places by the radio when they took it out to fit the iPod. I remember seeing on someones radio removal instructions that the frame that the radio sits in has very sharp edges and it is very easy to scratch the dash - one reason why I did not bother trying it myself!

I will let you know how I get on with trying to get them to sort the scratches...

To their credit they sorted it all out for me, I took it in and they got a dash repair guy (that they use now and again) to take a look, then they arranged to collect it a week later and it was all sorted and I can't see the scratches any more.
