There is what appears to be a small speaker mounted in the recess behind the ciggerette lighter and ashtray. First of all, does anybody know what it might be? I think it may be linked to the rear parking sensor, but no sound seems to come from it. And secondly, how to remove it? Ive taken the two screws off its sides, but it just wont budge, which makes taking the gear shift surround off impossible!

Hands free speaker?

To get it out you will need to take the dash tray out and then the stereo unit. Once this lot is out you will see it clearly.

Easy job to do. There is a guide on here somewhere.

Is there any other evidence of a hands free install?

Yep, there was the phone holder and what i presume was a microphone velcroed to the roof. Theyve both gone, just didnt have a clue what this speaker was, but now it makes sense!
Cheers
