Just a quick note about Lexus Chester dealership. I booked my 96 gs300 sport in for some bodywork(after lending it to a colleauge who crashed it) and I had to wait until a loan car would be available. This meant me waiting 4 weeks which I happily did. I decided to kill 2 birds with one stone and have the 60k service done at the same time. I have now had a phone call to say my car is ready which means I can return the SKODA they have leant me for the duration of the repair. To make matters worse it is bright yellow. When I go to pick it up tomorrow and part with the best part of 4 grand I will be looking for a little off for the insult.

that is terrible... if they did not want to loan another Lexus they could of at least lent say a nice toyota or something.
Could do a quick review for us at http://lexusownersclub.co.uk/reviews/

And they gave me it with no petrol in it. Had to limp to the nearest garage on the motorway which is about 10 miles away.

Never had any trouble at Lexus Chester myself - they've always been excellent.
When I bought my first IS I asked them about servicing and courtesy cars, as they are 7 motorways junction away for me (only 15 minutes though).
They told me that I would always get a Lexus courtesy car - and so far I "always" have (only had lone service done).
I'm afraid if they had offered me a Skoda, then I would have refused to accept it and had the car moved elsewhere.
Lexus Liverpool and Lexus Manchester are close enough to be competition.
I bet they've have bit your hand off for 4 grand of repair work.
hmmm - will be a bit more wary now, first sign of a skoda and I'm outta there

I wonder if it is because the loan car came from the bodyshop rather than the Lexus dealer. Was it a dedicated Lexus bodyshop? Most Lexus dealers don't seem to have their own.

You're lucky to get a Skoda. I had a 10 pence piece size dent in my front passenger door. Lexus Hadleigh booked it in with their bodywork specialist (£600) and I was not offered a loan car at all! They said that they only loaned cars out for servicing and I should hire a car myself and then claim the cost back through my insurance.

Good point Ricky.
Adrian, were your repairs done by Lexus Chester or by Clarkes in Hooton?

Assuming it was a late model Skoda, I'd rather have one of those than a Toyota

(And I drive an Altezza...) But, it does seem as if it was a bodyshop car not a Lexus courtesy car. You're luck it wasn't a a Micra...

not sure where they did the bodywork but it wasnt at lexus chester. There is a skoda dealership on the same site so not sure if the bodywork was done there. Picked it up today and it is looking very nice indeed. Managed to get some Lexus merchandise thrown in the price. I got the Lexus dog bowl, lead and collar set which will make my dog the classiest dog in the street even if she has a reputation for being otherwise. On a serious note although I slated Lexus Chester for giving me the Skoda they did cut me a nice deal when it came to paying for the work and have done a nice job on the car

Hmmm - thought Lexus Chester had there own setup by now.
I do know that previously they have used Clarkes in Hooton (Junction 5 - M53).
If Clarkes did the work, they may well have given you a skoda.
I had my car placed at Clarkes after my accident and the RAC engineer involved said they were very reputable (they just didn't have the laser jig needed to fix my car).
